Curating expert insights to meet our members’ needs

Practical and demand-driven, we tailor and organise each Policy Lab to meet EUKN members’ specific urban development knowledge needs. In diverse formats, they aim to foster learning and facilitate knowledge exchange on high-priority urban topics, supporting our members to achieve and sustain their urban development goals.

From open knowledge platforms to members-only meetings

We offer two distinct types of Policy Labs for members or non-members. Based on the preference of the partner, the Policy Lab can be an open or closed event. For members of the EUKN, the exchanges can range from Members-only to tailored high-level meetings, providing a platform for policy-makers, national ministry representatives and other key stakeholders in the field of urban matters. Find out more about our Membership Benefits. The wide variety of other Policy Labs are open to non-members, broadening the reach of our expertise and allowing for wider engagement on urban policy issues. Browse previous Policy Labs below.

A collaborative approach to shaping city futures

Our Policy Labs utilise innovative group working methods to bring together national, regional and local authorities with academics, policy-makers and practitioners in the urban sphere and often include site visits. To date, this has ranged from working with local consultancies in our members’ major urban areas to bringing together relevant experts to guide urban policy development in fellow European regions.
