Joint organisers: Czech Ministry of Regional Development

As coordinator of the Urban Mobility Partnership, established in October 2016 as part of the Urban Agenda for the EU, Czechia was responsible for developing the related Action Plan. As a result, this Policy Lab series was designed to support Czechia in this aim by collating international expertise on urban mobility.

In December 2016, the first Policy Lab featured keynote speeches from international experts on two key topics: sustainable mobility and mobility at EU and national levels. Discussions progressed to identifying potential bottlenecks in Czechia’s coordination of the Urban Mobility Partnership, and outlining future priorities and action points on EU funding, EU regulation and knowledge exchange.

In November 2017, international experts were again invited to discuss the second Policy Lab’s key topics: Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) and Mobility as a Service (MaaS). A workshop session then discussed the main challenges of SUMPs and MaaS, as well as possible solutions.
