Urban resilience to prevent and combat climate change impacts
Madrid, 8th April 2025
The EUKN co-organised a Policy Lab in Madrid together with Spanish Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda. The Lab focused on climate resilience in urban areas following the catastrophic 2024 floods in Spain.
Bringing together public officials, experts, and local actors, the event explored nature-based solutions, urban planning reforms, and cross-level collaboration to future-proof cities, especially against increasing flood risks in the Mediterranean basin. Case studies were presented to illustrate how integrated river and urban management combined with citizen-driven approaches are key to effective urban adaptation.
