The EUKN is proud to announce The Art of Just-City-Making: a series of Policy Labs, organised as part of the EUKN support to the French Council Presidency and in cooperation with ICLEI, URBACT, and the OECD.
The series will be spread out between April and May 2022, all specific dates, times and registration links below.
The three Policy Labs will explore how to create just cities in a green, productive, and digital manner, emphasising the relevance of integrated approaches towards sustainable urban development. This initiative reflects the French Presidency’s commitment to implement the New Leipzig Charter, which has put forward the notion the just, green, and productive dimensions of cities, complemented by the cross-cutting dimension of digitalisation. Besides being a platform for exchange and learning, The Art of Just-City-Making will contribute to guidelines for policymakers on ‘how to create a just city’.
The first Policy Lab, Green and Just, will take place on April 20th 2022 at 11:30-13:00CET. It will be organised in collaboration with ICLEI, building on their expertise on sustainable and just cities developed with the UrbanA, Arenas for Sustainable and Just Cities project.
A number of experts will explore how policymakers can ensure universal access to green spaces, soft mobility, and energy transition, unravelling what makes cities socially and environmentally sustainable.
