Energy Transition in the Built Environment

This Policy Lab pooled expert insights into good practices for energy transition from multiple European countries, fostering understanding of how to increase sustainability in built environments.
The event was designed to equip the Dutch government in creating the societal support and instruments required for its planned energy transition (making 7.8 million homes and 1.1 million office buildings sustainable and natural gas-free by 2030).
Participants included experts from Austria, Belgium, French, Germany, Denmark and Spain, Dutch governmental institutions, NGOs, academics, think-tanks, students and housing associations, leading to vibrant, productive panel discussions and workshops.
