The Policy Lab, organised by the European Urban Knowledge Network (EUKN) and Agence Nationale de la Cohéson des Territoires (ANCT), took place in Paris and served to create the Draft Action Plan for the Cities of Equality Partnership.

Launched in January 2024, the Cities of Equality Partnership is part of the Urban Agenda for the EU. Gathering stakeholders from various countries and levels of governance, it addressed issues related to equality in the city. It looked to integrate social inclusion into urban planning and foster better regulation, funding and knowledge.

The event included presentations from the EUKN on just city case studies as well as experience in the Greening Cities Partnership. The meeting fostered discussions on the Draft Action Plan by creating targeted interventions on the following topics:

  1. Tackling spatial segregation at city and neighbourhood level
  2. Engaging communities for fair and open access to services in a meaningful democracy
