Joint organiser: the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA)

Follow the EUKN on a journey throughout Europe and join the upcoming Spanish Policy Lab in Madrid, on 29 November.

The Policy Lab will build on the experience of the 2021 event on “The Integrated Approach in Urban Policies: European and Spanish Experiences”, jointly organised with MITMA, and continue the discussion about integrated regenerative practices at the district and neighbourhood level.

Regeneration and revitalisation, especially of deprived neighbourhoods, have been recognised as some of the focal points of EU and national policies in an attempt to combat urban inequality.

Different documents such as The Urban Agenda for the EU, the New Leipzig Charter, the Toledo Declaration as well as the Cohesion Policy address this issue with a specified action plan and instruments allowing cities to assume a leading role in designing their urban regeneration strategies in an integrated manner.

The aim of this Policy Lab is to accommodate a knowledge exchange on integrated urban regeneration across Europe and provide practical examples of such initiatives.

The outcomes will be used to inform the Spanish Urban Agenda as well as policy recommendations concluding the upcoming 2023 Spanish Presidency of the EU Council.
